New Acquaintances, Perhaps Friends

I feel like this semester I am making several new, important female acquaintances. So far I've met Edna Pontellier, Clarissa Dalloway, Miss Betsy Thoughtless, and Kate Brown. I'm also scheduled to meet Rosamund Stacey, Mike Hoolihan (don't be fooled by the name, she's a female detective), and Mary Barton, among others. I feel like many of them might stay merely acquaintances, but a few--the best and most special--may perhaps become friends.
